When our team visited this site we appreciated it to be one of the most remote project sites we had ever worked on. As we walked the trails, we discovered an overwhelming number of ancient archeological sites and abandoned gold mines. We did not have to look far to know what would influence our design for this project.
The task at hand was to master plan the trailhead facility for one of the largest private trail systems in the United States; located in the North Scottsdale community of Desert Mountain.
It is a stunning natural park setting with panoramic views of the Valley’s most iconic mountain peaks. Visitors are embraced by a large Kiva and a ranch-style windmill completing the ideal setting for enjoying sunsets and a glass of wine (or two).
